Brit Insurance group chief executive Dane Douetil has been elected as chairman of the Lloyd's Market Association (LMA).
The LMA said Douetil would focus on driving reforms through the London market.
Issues on Douetil's agenda, the LMA said, would include working in conjunction with market bodies to:
·Deliver the programme of reforms to achieve improved levels of contract certainty on business conducted in London
·Drive through business process reforms to deliver efficient end to end electronic systems, profitable business and internationally competitive customer service
·Continue to assist the broking community in its drive to develop a transparent, cost effective and efficient business model that recognises the imperatives of the post-Spitzer environment.
Douetil succeeds Robert Childs, director of underwriting at Hiscox, who has retired from the chairman's position after two and a half years.
