Gallagher Global Risks has today announced the appointment of David Battman to the newly created role of director of international development & strategy.

Battman will be responsible for developing reciprocal trade relationships in the Asian, Spanish and Latin American markets and for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Additionally he will work “to develop Gallagher Global Risks' international strategic roadmap and to enhance its communications activities”.

Prior to joining Gallagher Global Risks, Battman established operations for Lloyd's in both Spain and Asia. He was managing director of Lloyd's Spain, responsible for promoting Lloyd's interests in the Iberian Peninsula and, prior to that, served as managing director of Lloyd's Asia, Lloyd's regional underwriting platform based in Singapore.

Gallagher Global Risks CEO, David Ross, said: "David is a welcome addition to the team and brings a wealth of knowledge to the business. David's experience in the Asian, Spanish and Latin American markets will be invaluable as we continue to expand the Gallagher Global Risks operations.
