?Novae profit jumps 22%

Novae posted pre-tax profit of £17.7m for the six months ended 30 June 2007, up 22% on the same period last year. Gross premium revenue fell to £135m from £147.6m in 2006.

Benign season helps Omega profit

Omega Insurance’s first half profit more than doubled to $20.4m due to a benign property and catastrophe insurance claims season. Gross written premium for the period grew to $173.1m, up from $81.3m in the first half of last year.

Atrium triples profit

Atrium Underwriting posted pre-tax profit of £23.8m, triple that of the same period last year. The company attributed the increase to favourable claims experience and releases from prior years. Gross written premium rose marginally to £97.7m from £93.6m.

Culver posts £20,000 profit

Listed broker Culver Holdings reported a pre-tax profit of £20,000 for the first half of the year, up from £8,000 in 2006. Turnover increased by 5% to £1.9m.
