FirstAssist Insurance Services has made two major appointments.

Alistair Hardie has left Stonebridge Insurance to join FirstAssist Specialty Insurance as managing director.

In his new role, Hardie will focus on developing FirstAssist Speciality Insurance's distribution of personal accident, hospital cash plans, creditor and travel policies to its customers and customers of banks, building societies and affinity groups.

Hardie commented: “We aim to focus on our white label client partnering solutions, direct marketing expertise and our budget insurance operation to build on our highly competitive offering in the financial services sector.

"I am very excited about the prospects of this role. With the investments we are making in people, new products, and innovative marketing and technology solutions, we can help our partners to truly enhance their customer proposition and put the FirstAssist proposition clearly ahead of the competition. The unique features of our customer focused marketing model differentiate us from the high-volume, low persistency activity that has been common to date in this space."

And Fiona Lloyd-Williams has been appointed head of sales at Specialty Insurance. Lloyd-Williams has joined FirstAssist from American Express, where she was head of European account management.

Martin Totty, FirstAssist Insurance Services's managing director, said: “Both Alistair and Fiona bring strong experience in the financial services sector, each with a clear understanding of the value of high quality customer service, which is central to our proposition. Their appointments mean the leadership team in our newly created insurance company is now complete, enabling us to focus on driving growth on behalf of our customers and our shareholders.”
