Former Misys director Simon Trott has been appointed by the Loss Recovery Group (LRG) as its new sales director.
LRG claim the appointment will enable it to spearhead the expansion of its UK broker base.
Trott will be responsible for increasing LRG's premium income growth by 50% per year.
LRG managing director Malcolm Harvey said: "Simon's appointment comes at an important point in the strategic growth of the LRG business."
Trott said: "The challenge now is to increase awareness of the benefits it can bring and to introduce more brokers right across the market to Loss Recovery Insurance.
"There is significant opportunity to grow this class of business right across the market, which is what really attracted me to LRG."
