Justice finally caught up with a US businessman when he was arrested in Austria this week for his part in a multi-million pound insurance fraud.

Sholam Weiss was apprehended by police in Vienna after being tracked by police across three continents.

He faces almost immediate imprisonment as in February he received an 845-years gaol sentence after being sentenced in absentia.

An Orlando federal jury found Weiss guilty of stealing £90m from National Heritage Life Insurance.

But Weiss was able to flee the US before he could be sentenced for 78 counts of racketeering, money laundering and filing false documents.

Six other defendants were also convicted for the £285m fraud which caused the collapse of the Florida-based insurer in 1994. Many of its 25,000 customers lost their life savings.
