Snow under the cosh.

John Snow, former secretary of the US Treasury, found himself in a baptism of fire when returning to Washington.

In his guest speech at Lloyd’s first New York dinner, held to celebrate the links between the two capitals, Snow revealed that in his first week back, on his initial visit to Congress defending the President’s budget, he was attacked over the state of the economy by a senior Democratic member.

Personally blamed for the loss of three million jobs over the course of the Administration and for the fall in wages and real income, he was informed that he ought to be impeached.

A little extreme for a man who had been in the job just four days.
