Insurex Expo-Sure has made three appointments. Ian Houghton-Brown is appointed senior underwriter, Tracey Roberts is special schemes underwriter and Paul Cook takes the role of operations manager.

Bartholomew & James
Bartholomew & James has appointed Gary Proctor as director. Proctor holds a fellowship with the Chartered Insurance Institute and is an associate of the Institute of Risk Management.

Gordon Markey has been appointed commercial broking director. Markey has been with Bartholomew & James since 1993. He is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Heath Lambert
Heath Lambert Group has appointed Graham Barr as managing director of the group's UK broking division.

Barr returns to Heath Lambert Group after three years at Aon and replaces Derek Thornton, who has been promoted to chairman of the division.

Warren Hill
Warren Hill has recently employed two new staff members at management level.

Amanda Hills has been appointed personnel and operations manager. She joins from Guilbert UK, where she was human resource adviser.

Kate Naylor has been appointed marketing manager. She has more than 13 years' experience in direct marketing, ten of which were spent with Royal & SunAlliance, CGA, Cornhill Direct and ITT London & Edinburgh (now Norwich Union).

Silverbeck Rymer
Juliet Herzog, associate partner in the insurance defence division of law firm Silverbeck Rymer, has been appointed to the civil procedure rules (CPR) committee.

Herzog has particular expertise in the working and interpretation of the CPR 1998 from an operational perspective and acts primarily for the motor insurance sector. The committee, headed by the Master of the Rolls and the vice chancellor, has a statutory function to consider and review the rules of court under the Civil Procedure Act.

Scott Rees
Scott Rees, a firm of solicitors specialising in personal injury law, has broadened its senior management team by appointing four associates.

Solicitors Gillian Carlisle, Cathryn Farrell, Catherine Groom and David Byrne have each been promoted to the newly created position of associate.

Scott Rees & Co has a nationwide client base with offices in Skelmersdale, Lancashire and also Watford, Hertfordshire.

Millhouse Underwriting
Ian Skingley has been appointed general manager with the Millhouse Group. He joins from AIG, where he managed the company's Croydon branch office for nine years.

He has extensive experience in management, business development and under-writing. Skingley began his career as a commercial property underwriting clerk with Crusader Insurance in 1977.

Dave Mason has taken on the role of business development manager after a 30-year career at Northern Star where he was a senior inspector, regional sales manager and, most recently, commercial key account development manager.

Steve Shuttleworth has become city office underwriter at the new London Under-writing Centre operation, concentrating on property and commercial business. He was previously UK property and assistant bloodstock underwriter with Nelson Morrison Underwriting Agency, where he worked for three years.

Catlin Underwriting Agencies
Catlin Underwriting Agencies (CUAL) has appointed Lesley Denekamp as chief operating officer.

Denekamp joined CUAL in January 1985, soon after the company's formation.

Initially, she worked in the underwriting room and, in 1987, she was appointed a director of CUAL and of Catlin Holdings. Since 1989, she has been responsible for all aspects of administration, including human resources, training and development and traditional capacity management.

Miller Fisher
Miller Fisher has announced the appointment of Kieran Gallagher as its regional general manager in Scotland.

Gallagher joins Miller Fisher from Crawford & Co, where he headed its Scottish service centre. Combined with the appointment of Martin Shearer as business development manager, the appointment represents a significant boost to Miller Fisher's presence in Scotland.

Winchester White
Winchester White, the independent management consultancy specialising in the insurance and investment industries, has appointed Chris Jackson as managing consultant.

He was previously director of change programmes at Norwich Union, where he was involved in creating a new run-off operation for a recently closed London Market business.
