Perkins Slade
Perkins Slade has created five executive positions to underpin its growth and long-term succession plans. All staff below have been promoted to associate director in the following areas: Aslam Ismail - finance; Richard Doubleday and Barbara Ball - sports and recreation; Andy Fielding - development and international; and Chris Ball - client services.

All five are based at Perkins Slade's Birmingham offices.

Coversure
Coversure has promoted the following staff:

  • Allan Gambles from compliance manager to compliance officer
  • Chris Fox from franchise accounts manager to head of accounts
  • Carl Ashton from assistant compliance manager to compliance manager
  • Matthew Slack from assistant insurer accounts manager to insurer accounts manager
  • Stuart Costello from marketing executive to marketing manager.
  • Glencairn
    Mark Ter Haar has joined Glencairn as business development director, following Glencairn's acquisition of IoRisk Solutions.Ter Haar will focus on providing risk solutions and retail support for global Fortune 500 clients.

    Prior to setting up IoRisk Solutions he was managing director for European business development at Aon.

    Insurer

    CNA
    CNA has appointed Julian Enoizi as managing director of its European businesses, subject to regulatory approval.

    Enoizi will succeed Keith Davies, who has held the position since 2001 and will pursue other professional ventures following a transition period.

    Enoizi first joined CNA in 2002, where he is currently general manager and legal counsel for continental Europe.

    Atrium
    Atrium Underwriting has appointed Bernard de Haldevang as political risk and terrorism underwriter on Lloyd's Syndicate 609.

    De Haldevang previously spent four years as a diplomat in Africa, where he was the founding chief executive of World Bank and EU initiative the African Trade Insurance Agency.

    Prior to this he worked as a political risk specialist at Lloyd's for 18 years.

    Motors Insurance
    Mark Holley has been appointed head of underwriting by Yorkshire-based Motors Insurance.

    Holley joins after 19 years with Royal & SunAlliance, where he was latterly household product and compliance manager.

    Allianz Cornhill Schemes
    Jon Cooper has been appointed national business manager for Allianz Cornhill Schemes, where he will lead the business team in the ongoing maintenance of existing business and drive further profitable growth.

    Cooper was previously an area sales director for Aon's commercial insurance division.

    Wellington
    Wellington Underwriting Agencies, managing agent of Lloyd's Syndicate 2020, has appointed Huw Jones as divisional underwriter responsible for its energy liability account.

    Jones previously worked within Catlin's energy team.

    Canopius
    Lloyd's underwriter Canopius Managing Agents has recruited Mike Duffy and Alex Shepherd to run its new commercial property underwriting team.

    Duffy and Shepherd, who both join from Ace, will underwrite a worldwide property insurance portfolio with a focus on the US market.

    HCC Credit
    HCC Credit in New York has established a new underwriting team, having appointed Brian Duffy, Carl Nederman and Mark Rickert as senior vice presidents.

    All join from Trade Underwriters Agency, the underwriting agency that they founded in 1993.

    Legal

    James Chapman
    James Chapman has appointed four recently qualified lawyers.

    Catherine Berg and Emma Stuart join the firm's personal and catastrophic injury department, while Matt Hargreaves and Stuart Baird will work in its commercial and sports law team.

    All four have just finished two-year training contracts.

    Other

    Finsure
    Moira O'Connell has been promoted to relationship manager and head of Finsure's new sales support function.

    Gavin Parsons will assume the position of sales support executive.

    Sectornet
    Sectornet has appointed Kevin Reid as account manager.

    Reid, who previously worked in the insurance department of a UK utilities company, will be responsible for ensuring that core clients get the most out of the Sector insurance broking system.

    Jelf
    Jelf's wealth management division, Jelf Private Clients, has appointed Jon Baker to the new role of operations manager to support its growth.

    Baker was previously investment marketing manager at Clerical Medical, where he oversaw the offshore proposition into the UK IFA market.

    Health Shield
    Cash benefits healthcare provider Health Shield has appointed marketing director Philip Wood and finance director Maxine Wilson to its board of directors.

    Wood and Wilson have been with Health Shield for 15 and six years respectively.

    Profile

    Kevin Holt
    Kevin Holt has joined broker Bartlett to lead its new London City office.

    Holt joins from Capita, where he was account/development director. Prior to that he was a development director in Willis' risk solutions practice.

    In his new role Holt will develop new business both in the UK and worldwide, and act as account executive to Bartlett's substantial existing client base in the South.

    Holt said: "It is an exciting time for the company, as we seek to grow our business by offering leading-edge client service and innovative thinking to firms who want more of a tailored service than that offered by many of the more well known, major broking houses."

    Holt is married with a 16-year old son.

    A Charlton season ticket holder, he also enjoys golf and eating out, and teaches beginners' Ceroc dance classes.
