AIG has made two new appointments.

AIG Europe (UK) has appointed Peter Sprent as manager, political risk, for UK and Ireland. Based in London, he will head up the political risk department and will have additional responsibility for servicing clients in continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Melanie Summers has been appointed general manager for AIG Medical & Rehabilitation (AIG MR). Based at AIG MR's head office in Croydon, she will be responsible for overall strategic development, including managing the rehabilitation, occupational health and vocational expertise within the company.

Clarke Roxburgh Insurance Brokers
Chris Hunt has joined Clarke Roxburgh Insurance Brokers as a commercial account executive. He has extensive industry experience and has worked for Eagle Star, Albion (now Sterling Insurance ) and Marsh UK.

He will be based at the Droitwich office.

Giles Insurance Brokers
Giles Insurance Brokers has made new appointments to its board of directors. Company founder Michael Giles becomes chairman. His sons Chris and Nick will become chief executive officer and deputy chairman respectively.

Joining the board are David Pentleton, operations director; Tom Yorke, director (Midlands); Colin Young, IT director and Alex Allan, director (Highlands).

Marsh
Marsh Europe, the European arm of the world's largest insurance broker and risk management company, has appointed Felix Hufeld as the new chief executive officer of Marsh Germany and Austria. He will be based in Marsh's Munich office and joins from Dresdner Bank, where he was head of group corporate development since 1999.

RHG has made four senior appointments.

Stephanie Riordan has been appointed director, commercial development, RHG Corporate Insurance Brokers.

Michelle Aylward-Jones becomes commercial manager, RHG Corporate Insurance Brokers.

Victoria Evans has been appointed senior consultant, group risks, RHG Employee Benefit Consultants.

Carole Kitchener becomes administration manager, RHG Employee Benefits Consultants.

Markel International
Markel International has announced the appointment of Ian Marshall as chief operating officer. He will take up the post with effect from 1 January 2002. Marshall is currently chief operating officer of the Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme.

Carmichaels
Kevin Coomber has joined Carmichaels' head office at Maidstone as an internal claims handler, after spending four years with a leading insurer.

He is now studying for his Society of Claims Technicians qualifications, with a view to being ACILA qualified.

Buckley Scott Associates has appointed Andy McDonald to join the team at its Bury office in Greater Manchester. He joins Buckley Scott Associates from PCS in Cheadle, where he was responsible for the loss adjuster's all risks team.

Chem-Dry UK
Disaster restoration company Chem-Dry UK has appointed loss adjuster Mark Kennedy as technical and quality co-ordinator. Kennedy has 17 years' experience as a loss adjuster and will be involved in the audit process, operator training programme, complaints resolution and loss adjuster liaison. He was previously with Cunningham Lindsey.

Cunningham Lindsey has made several appointments.

Clive Spiller joins Cunningham Lindsay UK as Cardiff service centre director. He brings with him experience in sales, marketing, distribution and operations, gained over 34 years with General Accident, AXA and the Medical Insurance Agency.

The company's construction division has appointed three new technical members of staff. Alex J Shuttleworth will focus on liability claims. He joins from St Paul International.

John Chinn has also been appointed to the team. He has more than 15 years' experience in personal injury claims handling. Chinn was previously senior adjuster for Gallagher Bassett.

Wendy Hampton has joined the construction liability unit. She was previously with Norwich Union.

Silverbeck Rymer
Due to continued expansion, law firm Silverbeck Rymer has promoted four solicitors, Stuart Hutchinson, Alison Utting, Stuart Smith and Mike Cutler, to associate partners.

Eurobase Consulting
Specialist financial services IT company Eurobase Consulting, the consultancy arm of Eurobase Holdings, has appointed David Ogden as business development director.

Previously he had built and run his own IT and management consultancy, which he sold earlier this year. Prior to this, he worked for NatWest Bank and Forte.

Global advisory group Charles Taylor Consulting has appointed Paul May to the board.

May, a past president of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA), is chairman of Resolve International, which was acquired by Charles Taylor Consulting in May 2001.

Alan McEwan, an associate director of Warren Hill Insurance Brokers, has been appointed to the board of the Scottish Business Crime Centre (SBCC), a partnership between the government, the police and the business community to tackle business crime.

CS Healthcare
CS Healthcare has announced the appointment of David Royle as chief executive.

He joins from Gissings, where he developed a marketing strategy for the company's services in the areas of corporate pensions and health insurance.

Accidentcare Group
Accidentcare Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Eve as its new chief executive officer.

Eve was previously chief executive of Aon Risk Services. He has been in the insurance and financial services industry for 25 years, following an earlier career in marketing and consulting.

Since leaving Aon, he has been working with a number of companies as a consultant and is a founding shareholder of Torus Holdings, the Human Capital Management Group.

Alex Leonard has joined the board of Bodyshop Management Systems (BMS) as chairman. He was formerly managing director for Audatex UK.
