John O'Brien and David Jarman have joined CNA Maritime's London cargo operation. O'Brien, who joins from Ace Europe, will be responsible for dealing with national brokers in the UK. Jarman, previously at Reliance National Insurance, will concentrate on international business interests.

Liberty International Insurance Company has appointed John Spenceley and Stuart McAlister as UK casualty manager and assistant manager respectively. The pair will be responsible for developing a book of primary and excess UK and international casualty business through national brokers.
Singer & Friedlander Insurance Finance
Singer & Friedlander Insurance Finance has employed Sina Nejand as risk and audit manager. He was previously at BNP-Paribas Lease Group as end-of-contract manager.
Zenith Insurance
Former operations director John O'Shea has been made managing director of Zenith Insurance Management's motor division. He will be responsible for implementing the motor element of Syndicate 2002's business plan. Ken Walker, formerly of Direct Line, has been appointed technical claims assistant manager of 2002.
Zurich Municipal
Zurich Municipal has appointed Clive Moulson as marketing and sales director. Moulson will replace Eddie White, who has worked with Zurich since 1993 and retired last month. Moulson was previously Zurich Municipal's national sales manager. He will now have responsibility for looking for innovative insurance and risk management solutions for local authorities and other public service providers.
Bollington Group
Phil Price has joined The Bollington Group. He will be responsible for special projects within the Cheshire-based group's motor trade division.
Elliotts Solicitors
Elliotts Solicitors has promoted Sarah Naylor to partner in the insurance litigation department. Naylor, who specialises in professional and product liability, policy coverage and personal injury, has worked as an associate at Elliotts since 1996.
Shakespeares Solicitors
Shakespeares Solicitors has chosen its personal injury team manager Gary Christianson to take over as managing partner. He will start his new position in mid-May, when Andrew Argyle, who has held the post for five years, returns to full-time fee earning with the commercial litigation team. Christianson's appointment is for the next three years.

Carmichael & Company has announced the first of several new appointments. Steve Butler, who has made good progress with his ACILA examination, has been employed as an adjuster.

Walsh PI, the specialist professional indemnity adjusting firm, has appointed Martin Heath as director for the London area. Heath is a qualified chartered surveyor, mediator and adjudicator, which fits with plans to extend the company's multi-disciplinary capabilities.

Kodit Database has appointed Julie Harman as PA to the sales director and customer services administrator. Kodit offers audit, anti-theft tagging and help desk solutions to the insurance industry. Harman has 15 years' experience.
KPMG
Fergus Mackie has joined KPMG as partner to lead the property and casualty practice in London. Mackie joins from rival accountancy firm Deloitte & Touche, where he headed the non-life actuarial practice for two years.
