United Insurance Brokers has appointed Martyn Black to head its captive and risk management division following the formation of its trade, credit and political risks division. UIB has also appointed Philip Tuite-Dalton as its chief operating officer. He was previously managing director and deputy chairman of the aerospace division of Willis.
Alfred Blackmore
Alfred Blackmore has appointed Michael Norwell as its compliance manager for Lloyd's. Norwell was formerly at the Corporation of Lloyd's where he worked for 23 years, most recently as manager of the authorisation department in the regulatory division.
Beckett Financial Services
Beckett Financial Services in Bury has appointed Neil Sims as managing director. He joined the risk management group in 1999 and has 25 years' experience in investment planning, including Sedgwick Financial Services.
Alexander Forbes
Alexander Forbes has appointed Tim Baggott its international human resources director. Baggott was previously with risk management giant Willis for 14 years, where he held various human resources roles.
NIG
NIG has made three new appointments within its personal lines division. Alan Atkins is appointed account executive for East Anglia and was previously assistant credit manager at NIG. Trevor Davey is promoted to senior account executive and will lead the personal lines account executive team. Alan Love is appointed regional sales executive for Scotland. He has 21 years' experience in the insurance industry.
St Paul
St Paul has appointed Fiona McCrow as credit manager. She has more than ten years' experience in reinsurance and credit management.
Lloyd's
Lloyd's insurance group Cassidy Davis has appointed John Riches as a personal accident underwriter. He has 14 years' experience in the Lloyd's market and rejoins Cassidy Davis after a break of five years.
IBM
IBM has appointed Jeremy O'Dwyer as a client principal to its capital markets team. His role at IBM is to raise awareness of IBM's products among financial institutions. O'Dwyer was formerly an account director at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
Davies Wallis Foyster
North-west England legal firm Davies Wallis Foyster has made five appointments in response to demand for its corporate, commercial and insurance services. They are lawyers Stephen Jarman, Paul Carney, Simeon Gilchrist, Rachel Lloyd and Joanne Naylor.
McLarens Toplis
McLarens Toplis has appointed two new directors – Martin Robinson and John Farthing. Robinson joins McLarens Toplis after 22 years with Cunningham Lindsey. His new role is within the customer services team as business development director. Farthing has worked for the former Cunningham Hart and Miller Pycraft. At McLarens Toplis he becomes divisional director for technical services, dealing with contractors on a national basis.
Fitch
Insurance ratings specialists Fitch has appointed three new senior executives from rival AM Best. Chris Waterman, Greg Carter and David Wharrier join Fitch's London-based team which provides all insurance ratings services outside of the United States.
