IBM
Michael R. Steinharter is appointed vice president of IBM's Financial Services Sector. He has more than 18 years experience in the financial service sector in North America, Asia Pacific and Australia. In his new role he will direct IBM's banking and insurance business at the UK, Ireland, Netherlands and South Africa.

Insight consulting
Andrew Palmer is appointed to head a new division at Insight consulting which will provide recruitment support to the IT security, business continuity and risk management sectors.

The St Paul
Graham Daly is promoted to Deputy Excess of Loss Underwriter for sub-syndicate 2011, the Lloyd's marine syndicate of The St Paul. He has more than 15 years market experience and will work closely Gary March, the syndicate's Excess of Loss Underwriter.

Vizard Oldham
Vizard Oldham has appointed two new partners following its merger with Hartfields. James Pollock is appointed partner and was existing partner with Hartfields. Sarah Hamilton has been promoted as partner in the insurance litigation department. David Hartfields, Robert John, Emma Kendrick-Jones will continue as existing partners. Hartfields specialises in professional indemnity work for the Lloyd's and London insurance markets.

Eversheds Claims Managment Group
Two new directors have joined Eversheds Claims Management Group. David Harris and Nick Bonser are appointed directors and will be based at the company's Claims Management Centre in Cardiff. Harris was previously operations manager at Royal & SunAlliance. Bonser was previously managing director at Liberty Risk Services.

Munters
Lawra While is appointed marketing executive of Munters. She was previously PR manager for a large housing association in Ely and has a degree in communication studies from Coventry University. In her new role she will focus on customer and corporate communications.

Claims Direct
Paul Rew is appointed group legal director and company secretary of Claims Direct. His move from Littlewoods is the last of three board-level appointments as Claims Direct prepares for flotation and full market listing later this year. He joins a board already newly strengthened by the appointments of Roger Plantier as marketing director, moving from head of marketing operations at Wesleyan Financial Services Group, and Paul Doona as finance director moving from a similar position at St Modwen Properties. Rew has held successive combined posts as company secretary and group legal director at three major PLCs: Littlewoods, London International Group and Laura Ashley. In 1985 he handled the Ashley flotation.

Retail Motor Industry Federation
Alan Hines is appointed the new chief executive of the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI). He was previously managing director of Securicor Vehicle Management.

Pioneer Friendly Society
Pioneer Friendly Society has appointed two people. Paul Protheroe is appointed executive director of Pioneer. His new position marks his contribution to the strategic direction of the board. Linda Taylor is appointed operations manager. She will be responsible for all aspects of the society's operations.

Finsure Premium Finance
Finsure Premium Finance has appointed three sales executives. David Mann has worked in insurance for 19 years and was previously working as NIG's Commercial Development Underwriter for East Anglia. He will cover East London, Eastern Home Counties, and East Anglia for Finsure. Craig Leathley was formerly a personal lines development manager with CGNU and has been in insurance for ten years. His sales area will be West London and Western Home Counties. Adam Baker has been working in insurance for eight years with the Independent. He will cover the Midlands and South West.

British Holdings
Heather McGuire is appointed as group pension and insurance manager at the Associated British Holdings Plc (ABP). Prior to joining ABP, McGuire was pensions administration manager at the Automobile Association.

Equifax
Equifax has appointed Fionnuala French as managing director of Equifax's consumer information services. She will report to executive vice president and group executive Kevin Coyne. Bringing with her nearly 30 years experience in consumer services, Fionnuala will lead a number of new initiatives. She will also work with all relevant industry and legislative bodies to ensure Equifax compliance with consumer data regulation. She previously worked on the board of Mortgage Express for six years.
