The Beckett Group
The Beckett Group has appointed two people to its King's Lynn office. Rob Brooks is appointed associate director. He was with The Beckett Group at the head office at Bury St. Alex Thorpe is appointed consultant. He was previously with Norwich Union where he trained as an underwriter.
Smithson Mason Group
Smithson Mason Group has appointed Neil Durant and Gary Grace to the board of directors. Durant has 14 years experience at SMG and heads the commercial account handling and claims department. Grace has more than 10 years experience in the insurance industry and spent the past six years at SMG.
Thomas Winter Professional Indemnity Division
Jane Venning is appointed executive director of Thomas Winter Professional Indemnity Division. She has more than 20 years experience and previously worked for five years in professional indemnity as an executive director with Veagis.
RE Hutt & Company
Matthew Finch is appointed director of RE Hutt & Company. The appointment follows his qualification as an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute last October.

Ward Evans has appointed eight people and promoted two after the growth of its York office. David Atkinson is appointed risk benefits consultants. Julian Connor and Lee Nicholson are appointed account executives.
Catherine Priestley is appointed trainee account executive and Chris Gaunt is promoted to trainee account executive.
Joanne Taylor is promoted to employee benefits consultant and Michael Bains is appointed to trainee employee benefits consultant. Bruce Herrington is appointed compliance officer, Doug Strachan is appointed training & competence officer and Steve Reading is appointed to new business development.

Phil Lynn is appointed by BodyMaster UK to lead the implementation programme for the BodyMaster for Windows products. He was previously chief engineer at Northern Star Insurance.

Avon Insurance
Avon Insurance makes three appointments. Steve Decker is appointed Development Manager in Bristol. Steve Turner is appointed as Reinsurance Manager following a year working as the deputy. Julie Murray is appointed as Schemes Controller North.
Solicitors Indemnity Fund
John Stoneley is appointed chief executive of the Solicitors Indemnity Fund (SIF), the new joint venture between the Law Society and insurer The St. Paul. Paul Cusition is appointed managing director of the Solicitors Professional Indemnity. He is general manager of The St. Paul's London market operation and was previously director of Global Risks at Royal & SunAlliance.

Jan E. Jonker is appointed executive vice president and director of international accounts at Associated Aviation Underwriters London office. He will be responsible for production and underwriting of AAU's international aviation portfolio for Norwich Union Healthcare.
Towergate Underwriting
Richard Hornsey is appointed business development manager for Towergate Underwriting Caravan & Park Home Division. He has more than 12 years experience. He worked previously with Coyle Hamilton.
QBE
QBE has appointed David Eynon, Jill Stewart and Chris Fletton for its speciality lines team. Eyon will help lead the direction of the unit.
Prudential
Philip Broadley is appointed finance director of Prudential. He is chief operating officer at Arthur Anderson until May.

DAS Legal Expenses Insurance has appointed two people. Lyndon Willshire is appointed corporate business manager. Richard Scott Smith is appointed broker business manager.
Willshire will be responsible for business with insurance companies, building societies, banks and other major intermediaries. Smith will be responsible for all broker business.

Law firm Weightmans has re-elected its senior partner, Michael Edge for a further two years.
Edge, who has been with the firm for over 30 years, is a specialist in insurance litigation and employment. Ian Evans was re-elected to continue as deputy senior partner.
Bircham & Co
Bircham & Co has appointed six partners to join their Westminster office. Guy Vincent is appointed to the commercial department. Paul Shaerf, Michael Parker, Bob Perrin and Andy Smith are appointed to the property department. Andrew Couch is appointed to the litigation department. All six partners are previously from city practice Bower Cotton. Eversheds
Nicola Darvill is appointed to the litigation department at Eversheds. In her role she will be specialising instructions from police authorities and energy companies.

Kevin Coyne is appointed executive vice president and group executive for Equifax Europe. He was previously chief operating officer at Equifax.
