Guy Carpenter has appointed Laurent Dignat to its newly created European Solutions Group. Dignat will be responsible for integrating the capital markets, structured risk and enterprise risk management disciplines in Europe.
“Laurent's unique blend of expertise in insurance, reinsurance, investment banking and capital markets makes him an ideal addition to our team,” said David Priebe, head of Guy Carpenter's Global Specialty Operations. “Laurent will help lead this new group, which provides capital markets, ERM and rating agency services, in order to help deepen the firm's relationships with clients and develop new solutions that create value.”
Dignat joins Guy Carpenter from Société Générale's Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB), where he led the alternative risk transfer initiative within the firm's equity derivatives department. Prior to that, he directed the French operations of the Centre Re Group, a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services that specialized in ART and customised structured reinsurance solutions.
