Backchat was momentarily confused by the latest announcement from Lloyd’s, entitled ‘Lloyd’s appoints new president of North America’.
With the Democrat presidential nomination race finally drawing to a conclusion (Indecision 2008, as one satirical US show describes it), Backchat (for only a second, mind) thought the power of Lloyd’s had escalated to selecting the most powerful man or woman in the world.
