Jim Pittman, Halifax General Insurance's head of claims, has resigned...

Jim Pittman, Halifax General Insurance's head of claims, has resigned with effect from 8 April 2004.

Pittman, who has been with the company for four years, is leaving the general insurance industry to start up a new financial services business.

During his time at HBOS GI, Pittman ran the entire household customer services operations, setting up and leading Halifax Claims at Home. He also spent periods in charge of the company's original household claims department.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
