Specialist household policy introduced to cover additional risks

Heath Lambert Group has launched a household policy under its Homeline Solutions brand. The policy has been designed to cater for those specialist risks normally rejected by many insurers.

The new facility will allow for quotes on non standard risks such as subsidence, flood, non standard construction, previous convictions, adverse claims history, converted barns, halls of residence and people working from home including doctors and dentists.

Victor Wild, Divisional Director of Business Development at Heath Lambert Group, commented: “We recognised that following the recent rise in subsidence and flood claims, there is a real need in the market for specialist underwriting to cover those risks which fall outside standard criteria. We are delighted to be able to cater for clients who have been marginalised by insurers, and who will now be able to obtain a competitive quote. Each case will be dealt with on a case by case basis by our expert team of underwriters.”

The facility will be available predominantly through brokers, but also through banks, building societies, mortgage lenders and letting agents.

Victor continued: “It is important to us to work closely with our clients and understand their needs in this changing marketplace, and we are delighted to be able to fill what we feel is a gap in the market by providing a service for those who would otherwise not be able to cover their homes. Our policy is to provide a first class service to all our clients, at a competitive cost. We believe that with this policy we have extended our already comprehensive offering and can reach and cater for the needs of an even wider portfolio of clients.”
