HSBC has launched a new health cash plan for business customers to offer as an employee benefit.
HSBC said the regular payment plan allowed employees to claim back the cost of preventative medicine. This encouraged them to get advice and treatment before serious medical problems developed, HSBC said.
The product pays 100% cashback on essential healthcare.
HSBC Bank head of life and pensions Harpal Karlcut said: "Staff absences through sickness cost British employers a staggering £60bn a year - yet few companies do all they could to encourage preventative care.
"Employers can cover staff for as little as £10 per employee a month and this can be included as part of the overall pay package.
"There are also tax benefits - the employer can offset premiums against corporation tax."
