The Insurance Institute of Manchester is to hold an Educational Conference titled "It's a Matter of Principle" on Thursday, 21 February 2002.
The conference speakers include:
Reg Brown (immediate past president of CII)
Catherine Nicholl (Head of Communications, GISC)
Phil Hill (Cunningham Lindsey Loss Adjusters)
David Shaw (Crawford & Co)
Paul Jowett (Burgoynes Consulting Engineers)
The venue for the event will be Hulme Hall, at the University of Manchester, Oxford Place, Manchester.
Insurance Institute of Manchester deputy president Jeff Lindsey said: "With the collapse of major insurers and perhaps the greatest insurance disaster the world has ever known being recent events, coupled with the failure of the market to regulate itself, perhaps it is time to re-examine the basis of insurance.
"When the practice of insurance is failing to deliver, perhaps the principles have been forgotten.
"This conference will re-discover and re-examine those principles, via the speakers, and via various workshops, they will be applied to real events."
The conference, which attracts 18 CPD points, will be of interest to claims staff, underwriters, intermediaries, risk managers, adjusters, solicitors and students.
Enquiries should be directed to Alan Bladen at the IIM office on 0161 228 0454.
