PCS estimates church loss
Parishioners rescued priceless heirlooms from a raging fire in St Nicholas' Church, Hornchurch, last week. Loss adjuster PCS estimates the blaze which started in the roof of the Essex church caused £250,000 worth of damage. Evening prayers were abandoned as the fire gripped hold.

Seven tractors recovered
Officials at the equipment register have recovered seven tractors stolen from England with a total market value of £200,000. The farm vehicles were found last week by Irish police in the South East of the country. An investigator with the register has so far been able to trace four owners, including a finance company and an insurer. The tractors disappeared from England between 1999 and 2000. Last year, the equipment register recovered 38 items of equipment in Ireland worth £250,000, 90% of it was stolen from the UK.

Disaster Care seeks agents
Property restoration consultant Disaster Care is actively recruiting another 12 agents to add to its current network of 38 service providers. Managing director Stuart Richardson said the company hopes to grow its franchise to 100 agents and increase its £2 million turnover by 200% over the next three years. Lincoln-based Disaster Care is a founder member of the British Damage Management Association and is on the panels of Royal & SunAlliance and Prudential.

Auto Indemnity RSA deal
Auto Indemnity a provider of non-fault accident management services has reached an agreement with Royal & SunAlliance that should ensure speedier settlements for claimants. The agreement which covers working practices goes further than existing ABI guidelines on claims.
