How we feature Flock’s entry into Insurer Innovation of the Year - Product

What key achievement did your entry highlight?

Flock partnered with Allianz to launch the world’s first drone insurance platform that uses real time risk intelligence to identify, quantify and price risk. The self-service digital platform is now used by more than 3,000 commercial drone operators from individual pilots to some of the world’s largest drone fleets. Flock is now talking to major insurers about how its proprietary risk intelligence engine can be used to digitise existing insurance verticals from general aviation to autonomous cars and beyond.

Can you share data or testimonials to back up your bid to win?

“Flock are utilising geospatial data in a truly pioneering way to significantly enhance traditional risk assessment, and most importantly deliver superior customer outcomes.” Chris Wyard, head of underwriting data, Allianz.

“Skyports philosophy is to partner with companies early on to ensure we meet our customers’ needs and Flock provides this service for us. We have big plans to expand our global drone delivery operations and vertiport infrastructure offering and our tailored insurance cover with Flock ensures we do this safely whilst keeping costs low for our customers.” Duncan Walker, managing director of Skyports

What sets your firm apart from the other shortlisted contenders?

Flock’s drone insurance product is based on the world’s first real-time risk quantification platform. There are applications for this tech across the insurance industry. The real time risk intelligence engine learns over time to further refine and optimise new and existing risks. Flock Cover analyses real-time data to proportionally price and insure drone risk, unlocking fairer pricing tailored to individual risk-profiles and insights that help pilots to mitigate risk.

How will you celebrate if you are the victor?

We’ll be celebrating with the team but we won’t be resting on our laurels. With conversations with major insurers underway about how we’ll help them digitise, automate and optimise their organisations, there’s a lot of work ahead of us.
