A non-oe parts accreditation scheme aimed at reducing vehicle repair costs will be launched this autumn.
In a bid to curb the spiralling cost of replacement body panels, the new 'miracle' technology will enable up to 70% of damaged panels to be restored.
The controversial system is set to cause debate amongst insurers over the desirability of using non-oe parts.
Supporters of the scheme say the scheme will help cut costs, while there are doubts in some quarters over the effect non-oe parts may have on the value of repaired vehicles.
Head of Power-Tec Bill Savage said: "Using Miracle panel repair technology will reduce repair times to a fraction of what they would be using conventional methods.
"It makes sound economic sense to repair rather than replace damaged panels and what's more its reduces vehicle downtime, its better for the vehicle and also for the environment," he added.
