Helping hand from insurer prevents Lama drama
Lest anyone forget the importance of insurance to…well pretty much everything, come this bit of news.
The recent three mile, 2,000 strong handshake through the streets of London, started by the Dalai Lama, was nearly a missed opportunity, but for the swift helping hand from specialist broker John Ansell & Partners.
The specialist broker placed the event insurance minutes before the “Give peace a hand” event – a request for peaceful and meaningful Tibet/China dialogue – was due to go ahead.
“This important event was in real danger of being cancelled if the right level of insurance cover could not be found quickly,” Craig Smith, a director of London broker John Ansell & Partners, tells Backchat.
Handshakes all round then.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
