Zurich Financial Services
Zurich Financial Services has appointed five people to its management team. George Culmer is appointed chief financial officer. He was previously group financial controller for Prudential. Culmer takes over from Bryan Howett, who becomes head of corporate accounting. Geoff Riddell is appointed managing director for commercial, international, engineering and Zurich GSG. He was previously head of AIG Europe, France. Peter Burrows is appointed deputy managing director. He was previously director, UK Commercial at Royal & SunAlliance. Eddie Hester is in the new role of senior vice-president of corporate customer relations within Zurich Corporate Solutions. He was previously managing director of Zurich International.

Crowe Insurance Group
Jonathan Dye has been appointed regional fleet underwriter by Crowe Insurance Group syndicate 963. Dye was previously the Lloyd's insurer's section leader of fleet underwriting in Colchester and has worked for Crowe for nine years. He is joined by David Harris, who becomes assistant fleet underwriter for developing new broker-led business in the Midlands and North Wales. Harris was formerly at HWI insurance brokers in Nottingham. Dye and Harris will be based at Crowe's Solihull office near Birmingham.

Eastgate Assistance
Legal expenses insurer Eastgate Assistance has made nine key appointments. Peter Thomas is commercial development manager and has worked for AIG, Cornhill and Norwich Union; his focus will be on legal and medical business. Tony Sayer is appointed commercial development manager for Eastgate's medical services and was formerly with AIG Europe. Frank O'Malley is appointed head of sales and underwriting for legal and medical services. He will develop legal and medical accounts. Andy Tomkins is appointed motor development manager. Neil McDermott is appointed business implementation manager and will manage Eastgate's centralised broker and client support team in Colchester. Key account managers Simon Warr, Harvey Monk and Simon Blows will have new responsibilities in dealing with the company's key insurer and broker clients. Tony Wilks becomes agency manager working with the key account managers.

St Paul International
Ian Ross is appointed product manager, construction at insurer St Paul International. He arrives from Swiss Re's engineering department. He is a chartered engineer and member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

CNA Insurance
Gillian Franklin has been appointed an underwriter at CNA Insurance (Europe) in their Birmingham office. In her role Franklin will help develop scheme and non-scheme commercial business in the Midlands. She has 16 years' experience in insurance, having held previous posts at Sun Alliance, Prudential and GA Bonus, and returns to CNA after two years with Lombard General.

RISK MANAGEMENT

Joseph Albert International
Risk management firm Joseph Albert International Insurance has appointed three people to its management team. Stuart Cowart and Alfred Nagelberg have been appointed presidents and managing principals of the company. They will be responsible for all the company's operations and help provide strategic consultative services to clients. Charles Soucy is appointed vice president and principal consultant. He will provide strategic advice to his mixture of public and private sector, non-profit and professional services clients.

SBJ Stephenson
Ian Sandham and Steve Turner have been appointed directors of SBJ Stephenson group at Bristol. SBJ Stephenson is an insurance and risk management consultancy.

LOSS ADJUSTER

PCS
Stephen Dawson has been appointed a property surveyor with claims management company Property and Casualty Services in Leeds. Also joining PCS is Mark Metcalfe as a liability adjuster at Cheadle and James Preston as a loss adjuster for material damage at Leicester.

MISCELLANEOUS

InterSystems
Michael Fuller has been appointed director of UK marketing for data specialists InterSystems. He will be responsible for marketing the company's flagship database product Cache. Fuller has more than 20 years' experience in the IT industry and was previously sales and marketing director at George James Software, which develops software for InterSystems.
