DAS
Rachael Edwards has been appointed communications officer at DAS head office's marketing department in Bristol. Her brief will be to streamline communications for the 500 staff at Bristol, while reducing paper flow in favour of electronic and inter-personal contact.

Reliance National
Richard Green has been appointed as senior underwriter in the Financial Lines division of the London office of Reliance. Prior to joining, Green worked for AIG as a broker in the London market.

Amlin
John Stace has been appointed executive vice chairman of Amlin. His responsibilities will now include e-commerce development. Stace was CEO of Angerstein when that company merged with Murray Lawrence to form Amlin. Meanwhile, Tony Holt has been appointed underwriting director of Syndicate 2001, managed by Amlin, in addition to his role as active underwriter of the Coles business.

Recover Re
James Bromley Challenor has been appointed as general manager of Recover Re, the fast track reinsurance administration and collection service established jointly by Miles Smith and Peter Blem Adjusters. He is a qualified barrister and was, for many years, the claims manager for D.J. Marshall and Others.

LLOYD'S
R.E. Brown
David Hall has been appointed as Manchester branch manager for R.E.Brown, with extra responsibility for underwriting the property and package portfolio business. Hall was with American International Group for 14 years, most recently as assistant vice president. Martin Doyle, who opened the Manchester office in February 1998, will develop the professional and financial risks business.

Leisure Consortium
Iain Ward has been appointed underwriter of the contingency account at Leisure Consortium at Lloyd's. Ward was formerly with the Euclidian Syndicate at Lloyd's.

Wellington Underwriting
John Maxwell and John Robins have been appointed non-executive directors of specialist Lloyd's insurance company Wellington Underwriting. Maxwell has been director general of the AA since 1996, and has held previous managerial positions with Prudential and Grand Metropolitan.Robins is chairman of Welsh utility company Hyder and has been group chief executive of Guardian Royal Exchange.

Cassidy Davis Syndicate Management
Neil Deshpande has been appointed managing director following Edward Creasy's move to RJ Kiln. Desphande, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, was formerly chief operating officer.

GAB Robins
Following the purchase of 90.5% of the GAB Robins stock by Brera from SGS Societe Generale, Joseph M. Zubretsky will be appointed chief executive officer of new company Brera GAB Robins. Formerly executive vice president and chief financial officer of US mutual life insurance company, MassMutual, Zubretsky has experience in the insurance and financial services industries, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions.

TECHNOLOGY
CS Rand
Lyndon Jolley has been appointed principal consultant at CS Rand to support business development in telecommunications and utilities. In addition, Adrian Gyde has been appointed as principal consultant, focussing on the insurance sector. A member of the Institute of Financial Accountants, Gyde was formerly self-employed, providing strategic consultancy services to the insurance sector.

Paul Bermingham has been appointed business development director in the claims division of Claims Management Group Ltd (CMGL). He previously spent seven years with Crawford-THG.
