Lloyd's has named its new head of marketing and communications as David Peel.

Peel is joining the corporation from PR consultancy Weber Shandwick where he is a director. His past positions include working for the British Civil Service and a stint in the Prime Minister's press office.

He will be replacing Caroline Wagstaff who has held the position for four years.

Lloyd's chief executive Nick Prettejohn commented: "As a major international insurer and employer, Lloyd's communicates with audiences within the London insurance market, throughout the UK, and right across the world. The US is our largest single market, thus much of our effort has to be focussed there.

"David will play a vital role in ensuring all our key audiences are aware of developments here at Lloyd's and understand their implications."

Peel will take up his new role next month.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
