Lloyd's has appointed Jeremy Pinchin to co-ordinate the Lloyd's market's response to the 11 September terrorist attacks.
Lloyd's said Pinchin, whose title is "Special Council for September 11", would work to ensure that claims arising from the attacks were handled speedily and efficiently.
"He will also work in facilitating the many legal and technical issues which will arise from what is universally recognised as the most complex insurance claim in history," Lloyd's said in a statement.
Pinchin will report directly to Lloyd's chairman Sax Riley and will be based in London.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
