Bath-based Loss Management Group (LMG) has appointed fine arts valuer Simon Ball as claims validator for its recently launched collectibles division.
It said the move would give insurers the ability to scrutinise in more depth claims relating to porcelain, antique glass and china.
Ball, who specialises in Georgian silver and art deco jewellery, will have responsibility for validating the increasing number of collectibles claims that the company handles for insurers, it said.
Prior to joining LMG, Ball worked in jewellery retail for Bonhams auctioneers and valuers. He was also curator of decorative arts at Plymouth City Museum.
