Marsh has appointed Robert B Jones as head of strategy, with effect from 19 April. Jones will report to Marsh chairman and chief executive Ray Groves.
Jones will oversee the development and implementation of Marsh's strategic plan, said the company. He will also work with corporate and operating management to provide direction and guidance on a broad range of strategic issues, including acquisitions.
Prior to his appointment, Jones was leader for global business development and services for Employers Reinsurance Corporation.
He also served in planning, business development/marketing and financial positions with various GE Capital units, as well as with the company's asset management operations.
