Marsh has promoted John Nicholson to the newly-created role of managing director of UK regional operations for its corporate client practice.
The corporate client practice is part of Marsh's UK retail business.
Nicholson will report to Chris Lay, deputy chief executive of Marsh's UK retail business.
In addition to the new role, Nicholson will also lead the company's UK trade retail practice, said Marsh.
He has been promoted from his role as northern regional director. He will continue to be based in Glasgow.
