Groupama's ex-associate director for personal insurances Trevor Miles said cheers to the insurer this week, as he celebrated his retirement from the

company.

Miles, who has been with Groupama for 33 years, enjoyed a round of golf with key clients and also a number of Groupama executive directors.

"Trevor has been a good colleague and a good friend and has played an important role in the evolution of the business," said chairman and chief executive Tony Lancaster.

"His foresight, technical expertise and commitment pushed boundaries which have not only brought huge benefits to Groupama, but have benefited the insurance industry as a whole."

During his 40-year long insurance industry career, Miles rose up the ranks, holding positions in sales, agency, commercial and personal insurances.

Miles was heavily involved in Groupama's EDI initiatives and was a contributor to the Brokernet Steering Group. He was a director of Polaris until late 1999.
