A new trade association has been formed for the credit hire industry, which aims to foster consensus on the issue of car hire rates in the wake of the Dimond v Lovell judgment.

The ABI has also approved Auto Indemnity as a supplier of non-fault accident management services. This means it will agree to abide by fixed rates for credit hire charges and specified claims service standards.

Other founding members of the National Association of Credit Hire Operators (Nacho) include Car Crash Line, Motor Claims Direct, Drive Assist and Colegate Vehicle Hire.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
