Abbey has appointed Richard Field as its director of general insurance. Field was formerly director of product management at Prudential.
Filed, 40, will be responsible for the development of general insurance policies and the operational side of Abbey's general insurance business.
Abbey's customer director Angus Porter said the company had identified general insurance as a key area for growth.
