Aon has appointed Christian Hoffman as global chief executive of commercial risk, effective 1 June 2026.

Hoffman currently serves as the broker’s global specialty and financial products leader and head of M&A for North America.
In his new role, Hoffman will lead its global commercial risk business, advancing the firm’s strategy to help clients navigate volatility by connecting their risk needs with the most efficient forms of risk capital.
Reporting to Joe Peiser, chief executive of risk capital at Aon, Hoffman will work closely with leaders across the firm’s regional teams and business services.
Peiser said: “Commercial risk is central to how we help clients navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected risk environment.
“Hoffman has spent his career working closely with clients to address their most challenging exposures, from cyber and financial lines to emerging and systemic risks. He has Aon United in his DNA, bringing together expertise, analytics and market relationships to deliver better outcomes.

Long-serving experience
Since joining Aon in 2003, Hoffman has held a series of senior leadership roles at the firm.
