Chief executive said the trade association was ‘overwhelmed with support’ when the coronavirus pandemic hampered 2020’s conference plans

As Biba’s first virtual two-day conference came to a close this week, host and BBC broadcaster Huw Edwards confirmed that the trade association plans to return to having an in-person annual conference in 2022.

Next year’s event will be held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May at Manchester Central, if Covid-19 restrictions allow.

Steve White, Biba’s chief executive, said: “We were overwhelmed with the support when we were forced to cancel our 2020 conference.

“Equally we are delighted with the way the market has embraced the first ever Biba digital conference. I would like to thank all exhibitors, sponsors and delegates for trying something new and making it a success.

“We have been through a very challenging year and I am looking forward to welcoming everyone back to Manchester next year.”

Biba’s 2021 conference was held on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 May via an online platform. To catch up on Insurance Times’s coverage from the event, click here.
