Independent specialist broker BMS Group has appointed of Genna Biddell as its new managing director and head of London property and casualty (P&C) Re.

Biddell will be responsible for the London P&C reinsurance business and help develop strategic projects to drive growth opportunities.

She will collaborate with teams across London, US and Bermuda and report to Bard Melvin, president and chief executive at BMS Re US.

Melvin said: “I am thrilled to welcome her to the organisation and look forward to her contributions to reinsurance, a key area of focus and growth for BMS.”

Experience

Biddell joins BMS from Howden Re, where she has been managing director of the North America wholesale property treaty team since April 2024.

Prior to this, she worked at Howden Tiger as a partner, while she was also a reinsurance broker at Aon and Willis.

Melvin said: “Biddell is highly respected in the market and a fantastic addition to BMS.

“Her commercial acumen and technical knowledge of the P&C reinsurance space will be instrumental in securing the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
