’My insurtech journey is not ending here,’ says outgoing chief underwriting officer

ManyPets’ chief underwriting officer Charlotte Halkett has announced that she will be leaving the managing general agent (MGA).

Halkett joined the business in June 2019 – when it was known as Bought By Many – as chief commercial officer before moving into her most recent role in April 2022.

As chief underwriting officer, she was responsible for underwriting, pricing, insurance product innovation and loss ratio management.

She also led the carrier and reinsurance strategy.

In a LinkedIn post yesterday evening (23 October 2023) announcing her departure, Halkett said that it had been a “huge privilege” to be part of the MGA.

”Pets are such an important part of families across the world and I’m so proud of what we have built,” she added.

”More than anything, I will miss the friendliness and passion of the ManyPets team.

”I want to give a huge thank you to every colleague and partner.”

Experience

Prior to ManyPets, Halkett was the managing director of insurance for Buzzmove – Buzzvault’s former MGA arm – where she led on insurance product development between 2017 and 2019.

Before this, she was the general manager of communications at telematics firm Insure the Box.

Speaking about what the future will hold, Halkett explained that her career in insurtech was not over.

”I’ve had an amazing ManyPets journey – and will always be (Dogsled) Team ManyPets.

”Of course my insurtech journey isn’t ending here. Watch this space for my next announcement.”
