Atrium has formed a new strategic distribution team with two senior hires.
The appointees include Chance Gilliland, who has been named group head of strategic distribution, and Maureen Higgins, who has taken up the role of deputy group head of strategic distribution.
Both Gilliland and Higgins will focus on expanding relationships and supporting product and distribution innovation, including emerging trends in distribution.
John Fowle, chief executive at Atrium, said: “Today marks an important step in our growth journey as we continue to expand our relevance to brokers, clients and coverholders.
“Gilliland and Higgins are highly respected figures in the market who will bring significant value to the group.”
Experience
Gilliland joins from Chaucer, where he spent six years leading the growth of its global property binders account.

Prior to that, he worked at Chubb for a decade writing US property binder business in London and the US.
Higgins, meanwhile, joins from RenaissanceRe, where she worked for 17 years across its US property book in London and Bermuda.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
