’I’m excited to be leading this new team and helping to drive the next phase of Lockton’s growth ambitions in the UK and across its international operations,’ says appointee

Lockton has appointed Matt Kendle as head of its newly established construction and design practice.

Kendle joins from Marsh, where he led its international construction sector offering.

His appointment follows the broker’s strategic decision earlier this year to consolidate its construction-related teams from across the business into a single practice.

Gary Doran, head of global energy and power and construction practice at Lockton, said: “The construction industry is at the heart of Lockton’s heritage.

”The creation of a dedicated practice under Kendle’s leadership underscores our long-term commitment to delivering market-leading risk management and advisory services to clients worldwide.”

Next growth phase

The new practice will play a key role in driving the next phase of Lockton’s growth strategy in the UK, US and other international markets, while expanding the firm’s construction and infrastructure client base.

Commenting on his appointment, Kendle said: “Lockton has built a practice that is well-respected within the construction and infrastructure sector – it’s one that speaks for itself and joining the business is a privilege.

“Creating a single 70-strong team is a powerful statement of intent and commitment to supporting our clients at a pivotal time when the sector is being fundamentally reshaped by their increasing need for smarter, integrated risk thinking. I’m excited to be leading this new team and helping to drive the next phase of Lockton’s growth ambitions in the UK and across its international operations.”
