The new hire has 33 years of industry experience, previously working at firms such as Sedgwick UK

Global loss adjusting firm McLarens has appointed Neil Baldwin to its UK and Ireland board, acting as executive director.

In this position, Baldwin, who has 33 years of experience in account management, business development and complex and major losses, will take executive responsibility for the further development and strategic growth of the major loss department within McLarens.

Baldwin is succeeding Nigel Clarke, who retired as executive director in March after 13 years with the company.

In his new post, Baldwin will work alongside Mike Rosthorn, Darren Anderton and William Wilson, who act as heads of McLarens’s major loss practice for the south, north and Ireland regions respectively.

The team plan to continue driving activity from an operational and technical perspective, following McLarens’s restructure last year that saw major loss and technical adjusting placed at the core of the organisation’s operational management and delivery approach.

‘First-class service’

Most recently, Baldwin worked as the head of UK retail, client relationship management at Sedgwick UK.

Prior to this, he worked at firms such as Capita McLarens and Vericlaim, taking on roles that incorporated technical loss adjusting, managerial capabilities, major loss adjusting, key account management and overseeing global operations.

Steven Wallace, UK and Ireland managing director at McLarens, said: “We have seen considerable growth over the past year and we’ve made numerous senior hires to support and build off the momentum and further extend our service offering.

“It is hugely positive to have someone of Neil’s calibre on board; he’s well known in the marketplace and brings a unique perspective that will be invaluable in supporting the continued expansion of our business. His values and passion for service focused, technical loss adjusting aligns precisely to the McLarens ethos.”

Baldwin added: “McLarens is well renowned as a specialist provider of expert, technical loss adjusting and it’s a proposition that clearly resonates with the market.

“This is exactly the type of work that I’ve specialised in over the course of my career. Robust account management and first-class service delivery are what I’m passionate about and it’s clear that both of these are integral to the McLarens approach.”
