Insurer QBE has announced multiple senior hires in preparation for the launch of its new media professional indemnity (PI) product for its European operations division.

These appointments include Lucy Smith as its new senior media PI underwriter and Hannah Dennis as media PI underwriter. 

In their new roles, they will be based in London and will report into Chris Pavlou, PI portfolio manager of international markets at QBE Europe.

Both appointees will be looking to replicate the success of QBE’s media PI product in North America, which was launched over a decade ago and provides PI cover for film production, radio and television broadcasting, publishing and other media.

Experience

Both joining from Tokio Marine HCC, Smith most recently held the role as senior media, film and TV underwriter.

Meanwhile, Dennis previously served as media film and TV underwriter at Tokio Marine HCC for over four years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
