’We are very fortunate to have senior industry professionals on our board, guiding and supporting our initiatives,’ says managing director

Digital trading technology provider Polaris UK has appointed Rob Flynn as the new chair of its board.

The UK SME director for RSA Insurance has been a board member of Polaris since 2020 and will succeed Deepak Soni, director of commercial at Axa Insurance.

The Polaris board is composed of representatives from insurers and brokers, who aim to help the firm facilitate digital trading for the insurance industry across personal and commercial lines.

Flynn has been with RSA for 13 years and was the managing director of the insurer’s direct brand More Than before taking up the role of UK SME director.

He said he was ”looking forward to working with Polaris” as its new chair.

“Polaris plays a crucial role in bringing together the industry on various initiatives that promote digital trading,” Flynn added.

“The company has seen substantial growth in the usage of its products and services as the industry continues to rapidly embrace digital trading.”

“I look forward to working with Polaris as it delivers the tools and systems to facilitate the industry’s continued digital journey.”

‘Very fortunate’

In March 2023, Polaris revealed that more than 500,000 policies were being traded on its imarket platform, designed for commercial insurance digital trading for insurers, brokers and software houses.

Vivek Banga, managing director of Polaris, said: “What makes Polaris unique is our industry ownership model and the support that we get from the industry which then widely uses our products and services.

“We are very fortunate to have senior industry professionals on our board, guiding and supporting our initiatives.”

Banga also paid tribute to Soni after serving as Polaris’ chairperson for four years.

”My team and I are very thankful to Deepak for his support during his tenure with Polaris, both as a director and then chair,” Banga said.

“Now, we look forward to working with Rob as he moves into the chairperson role.”
