The new hire will be responsible for driving Saga’s strategy forward

Specialist insurer for the over 50s Saga has hired Willis Towers Watson’s (WTW) senior director Graham Wright as its new pricing director.

At WTW, Wright led the UK property and casualty, pricing and underwriting practice. This saw him work closely with the insurance team at Saga over the past two years to deploy new pricing techniques, which helped deliver significant loss ratio benefits and supported business growth.

Wright will be responsible for continuing to drive this strategy forward when he joins Saga later this year, working closely with the wider insurance team to help deliver exceptional experiences for customers.

He will also work with Saga’s new chief executive Steve Kingshott, who takes the helm this autumn.

Outgoing Saga chief executive Euan Sutherland said: “Wright is an exceptional addition to our insurance leadership team, with extensive technical experience and a track record of delivery gained over an impressive career.”

New strategy

Wright has a strong track record of advising on strategy and delivering market leading pricing practices to clients, with more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance sector.

Wright added: “I’m looking forward to joining Saga’s leadership team at this exciting time.

”The business is in a strong position with a clear focus for the future and I am excited to be helping lead the next stage of its transformation to being a leading personal lines player in both its underwriting and intermediary capabilities.”

Sutherland continued: “We are delighted that [Wright] is joining Saga to work with the insurance leadership team and return the business to sustainable growth - part of our new strategy, announced in September last year.”
