The acquisition plans to bolster Tasker’s mid corporate capability and PI expertise in the North West

Insurance intermediary Tasker Insurance Group has bought independent, Altrincham-based broker Insure Risk Limited.

The deal is the second acquisition in the last 12 months for Tasker Insurance, as well as its fifth purchase over the past two and a half years.

The transaction, which is subject to FCA approval, aims to support Tasker’s strategy of expanding its existing regional footprint and extending its specialist capabilities.

Commercial broker Insure Risk was established in 2010 and handles £2.5m gross written premium.

The Insure Risk team will add further depth to Tasker Insurance Brokers in the North West, bringing mid corporate capability to the business and extending Tasker’s professional indemnity expertise within the region.

This follows Tasker being acquired by Jensten Group last month, aligning with the expanded group’s strategy of developing a regional footprint across the UK through acquisitions and organic growth.

On completion of the deal, Insure Risk’s managing director Ged Murray will work as a consultant to support the smooth transition of the business.

Meanwhile, fellow Insure Risk executive director shareholder Paul Denny will take up the role of director, corporate North West upon joining Tasker.

Denny will also join the Tasker Insurance Brokers management committee, reporting to Robin Thomson, managing director of Tasker Insurance Brokers.

Robert Organ, Tasker Insurance Group’s chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome them and their team into the business.

”They are very much aligned to our thinking and approach to business, which will be part of the reason for our joint success in the future.”

Murray added: “We have always felt that Tasker Insurance would be a great home for our business. [Organ, Thomson] and the broader Tasker team have been easy to work with throughout the process and I know that Tasker is the right home for my team and our clients.”

Thomson said it was “great to see Tasker continue to grow and develop, with acquisitions remaining very firmly part of our strategy going forwards”.

Denny continued: “[Thomson] and I have worked closely together over the past few months. I’m excited about Insure Risk being the platform for further investment and growth for the business in the North West and I can’t wait to get started and lead the team forward.”
