Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 3 to 7 March 2025

Starting off the week, Insurance Times revealed that Superscript had promoted its chief commercial officer Christopher Barclay to interim chief executive.

Barclay succeeds Cameron Shearer, who has decided to step down from the top boss role at the digital broker.

Then, Markel appointed Nicola Cunliffe as its new head of trading in the UK.

In her new role, Cunliffe will be responsible for brokers’ experience when trading with the insurer across the UK.

Following this, Flood Re appointed its non-executive director and chair of the risk and capital committee Perry Thomas as its new chief executive, succeeding interim boss Stuart Logue.

Logue has led Flood Re on an interim basis since August 2024, replacing outgoing chief executive Andy Bord. Thomas, meanwhile, has been involved with the reinsurance scheme since October 2021.

After that, Hiscox announced Daniel Williams as its new chief auditor.

Williams will be responsible for overseeing the global audit team and managing the execution of the internal audit strategy.

Finally, Axa XL appointed Martin Kilshaw as its new head of broker management and alternative distribution for the UK and Lloyd’s.

In his new role, Kilshaw will be responsible for driving engagement with Axa XL’s broking partners, leading a team of strategic broker leaders and managers.
