Hosted by Insurance Times deputy editor Yiannis Kotoulas, the eTrading webinar featured a panel including Insurance Times head of research Savan Shah, Zurich’s head of SME trading Nikki Lidster and Compare Insurance chief executive Mark Thomas.  

During the webinar, the panellists tackled a number of issues that have remained important in the eTrading sector, including the importance of personalising service to brokers in an electronic environment, the increasing complexity of cover that can be eTraded and the different rationales for utilising software houses versus insurer extranets. 

Insurance Times research editor and eTrading report author Savan Shah also contributed his knowledge to the discussion, bringing in stats from this year’s Five Star Ratings: eTrading report to explain that while there are certain trends in the development of the eTrade market, “one size can’t fit all in such a complex sector”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
