ABI man sorts out his old press releases.

Nick Starling’s claim in a recent blog for Insurance Times could have been merely tongue-and-cheek. But his announcement that he would be holding a car boot sale to combat the effects of the credit crunch does conjure up an amusing image.

The ABI’s director of general insurance and health said he got the idea from his neighbours, who have been holding such bargain basement extravaganzas every Sunday morning of late.

His blog takes a serious tone, warning insurers that in these tough times, customers might be more willing to scale back on insurance.

But he ends his blog by saying: “As for me, I am now off to sort through what I can to sell to bargain hunters from the back of my car this weekend. If you can’t beat them, join them.”
