Tracker has followed up its warning on vehicle theft using keys stolen from owners (see Insurance Times, 13 December 2001). The recovery specialist has joined the police to write letters warning householders of the danger.

Last year Greater Manchester Police wrote to 10,000 addresses, warning of the danger and recommending the use of Tracker vehicle recovery systems.

Tracker is the only system used and endorsed by UK police. The successful Greater Manchester campaign inspired the South Yorkshire Police to do the same this month.

The letters will go to householders in Sheffield, where there have been almost 4,000 vehicle thefts involving keys stolen during burglaries in the past 12 months, and Rotherham, where 1,673 thefts have been recorded.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
