Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group (R&SA) has appointed Zurich executive George Culmer as its new chief financial officer.
Culmer, who was appointed head of capital management for Zurich Financial Services during 2003, will also become a main board director of R&SA.
He was previously chief financial officer for Zurich's UK operations, having joined the company in 2000, after spending nine years at Prudential.
Culmer will receive a salary of £380,000 and will receive options equivalent to his first year's salary on arrival. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
